I have to apologize for my lack of post for the past two days. I have been isolated in a place (albeit a place with a fab pool and free food and drink) where there was no internet service … “cannot be” you say, I say “yes, and it was dreadful.” Something to be discussed though someday soon is how disconnected one starts to feel without a way to connect with the outside world.
So, being that I have not posted in the past two days I am sharing today a new “IT.” Custom electronic invitations, by the name of Paperless Post, a company started by a brother and sister dynamic duo. How is this different from Evite you ask? The bright side: The invitations are chic, elegant and well designed but the downside is that there is a postage fee to e-mail them to your individual freinds or guests. This has apparently infiltrated all the fashion and elite social circles, even our former Secretary of State Condeeleeza Rice has had a party thrown in her honor with the use of these paperless invites. I for one am still mulling it over. I guess I am sort of a traditionlist in this regard. Something about receiving the envelope in the mail sets ther proper tone for an event. What do you all think? Please weigh in!

I’m with you. There is something to receiving a beautiful invitation in the mail. It’s a nice break from receiving junk mail and bills on a daily basis. However, when sending out invitations I do like the idea of being able to track my invites.
So in the final analysis: when receiving I am old-fashioned – send me a letterpressed invitation. when sending- I think i would go the way of cost efficiency and easy tracking.
Thanks for the info, I’m sure it will come in handy some day.
I myself agree. I loathe the idea of evites of any kind really I do. Green friendly I suppose but I love the feeling I get when I receive an invite in the mail. Snail Mail Invites are the winner but I do applaud the site for its crafty idea.
Although, evite is convinient and enviromental friendly, i don’t think it can never replace the feeling you get when receiving those beautiful card the old-fashioned way. A beautiful letterpressed work needs to be touch and feel. Me personally like to even smell them cause they look so sweet sometimes…
