After our stay in Los Roques, off we were to Rio de Jainero. After sitting through an arduous 7 hour red eye flight from Caracas arriving at Hotel Fasano was close to entering the gates of heaven. This hotel is uber chic and uber luxe. We were sadden to hear that as our taxi was pulling up to the hotel Madonna and her entourage had just checked out only seconds before. Bad timing on our part. The hotel though unassuming is beautiful. Natural woods, beautiful stones, and interestingly placed mirrors definitely ups the sexy factor. Our room was a g-o-r-g-e-o-u-s suite with a huge balcony – we had a perfect view of surf and sand.
Located in Ipanema, this hotel has a roof top pool area that affords a full view of beautiful Ipanema beach and all of its excitement below. Caipirinhas, tuna-tartar, brazilian cut bikinis, and havainas were always the fashion du jour. It was really hard to drag overselves away to go sightseeing. I really can’t imagine a trip to Rio without a stay at Hotel Fasano.
