Introducing Aussie’s answer to New York’s Amy Atlas: Scissors.Paper.Cake. Just how cute are these cupcakes – way too cute to eat! This is a melange of two fab women of course – one custom invitations designer see Imprintables, the other a party styler and cupcake baker see Hello Naomi. The whimsy here is totally over the top and I just love to see a theme carried out to o-b-s-e-s-s-i-v-e perfection. I see how they are doing things down under and I am totally feeling their vibe. For more super cute party styling ideas from this dynamic duo see imprintablesblog.

Tuesday, January 26th, 2010
Think of this as the e-announcement before the official paper announcement. Everyone wants to see the pictures of your new baby as soon as the baby is born. What a cute way to introduce the first few days of your little ones life to your family and friends. First Announcement is the brain child of baby style maker Wendy Bellissimo. Simply create an account, select a theme, add your recipeints email addresses (it can also automatically load your contacts from your e-mail), upload your photos and your done. I took the site for a little spin and it actually took me less than five minutes to create. This will save you the time of having to text and mass email baby pics on the fly. Wendy has also launched a new online destination for all you new Mamas called Nesting, where you can chat it up with other moms and find out about the latest baby trends. Love it!
{Blik stik}
Thursday, November 5th, 2009I am in love with Blik decals right now. In one Saturday morning, Soleil and I decaled her whole bathroom. It was a cinch and super cheap. We were so happy with our creative handi- work that I wanted to blik my whole apartment- but my dear husband – always the voice of reason – decided that too much of a good thing is well not so good. We pouted for a while but in the end acquiesced realizing he is probably right. Nevertheless, we transformed a space into something that gives us all great pleasure everytime we enter the room. Very Satisfactory!
{ Artisanal Ice Cream Truck }
Thursday, August 20th, 2009Of course New Yorkers can never be satisfied with just Mr. Softee or the Circus Man. Window shopping in Soho yesterday I spotted the Van Leeuwan ice cream truck, the purveyor of gourmet organic ice cream. Of course in total New York fashion there was a line that was at least 30 minutes long. I pondered should I … shouldn’t I … hmm … finally my greed got the best of me and I stood in line in the 92 degrees heat … urrrgh! I guess it didn’t hurt that the truck was stationed outside the Louis Vuitton store. That means I was able to multi-task – Sweet! So, what’s so special about this ice cream? Well its organic for one and its of course delicious. After debating flavors, I decided on the Giandujia and Red Currant. YUM! No gum paste gook here – all fresh ingredients. The wait is a bit absurd but I guess it goes with the territory. Organic ice cream truck does sounds like an environmental oxymoron however but I guess that also goes with the territory. They have 2 trucks stationed in lower Manhattan and now one in Park Slope. This is a definite must try!
