weddingevent2010

To quote the ever creative Hadiya over at Sight Undefined, (yes, I am calling you out!:)  two weeks of not posting is like 2 months in blog time … but what better way to make a great come back but to bring you a sweet peek of how the New York Magazine Wedding Event 2010 went down.   In a word is was A-W-E-S-O-M-E.  We had so much fun and met so many great brides and made new friends.  Our booth was perfectly nestled between the ever talented and fabulous Betsy from Nine Cakes and the extraordinaire wedding style maker Colin Cowie!  There were so many super creative beings in one room it was truly nirvana.  We met Sierra from Poppies and Posies, the girls over at The Village InvitesCeci and of course we had to have a picture with Colin.  Stay tuned – tomorrow will showcase some of the other fabulous vendor tables.

Office Candy

OfficeSpacesApologies for the lack of posts all last week – well I had the blues and a really bad case of them.  Couldn’t put pen to paper or fingers to keys.  But, this is a new day and new week –  looking forward to bright skies although by the looks of things today its quite dreary outside.  But onward I say!  And today I am posting various office space that truly inspire each for different reasons.  Over the past few weeks I guess the biggest lesson for me has been its not about the size of the space but more so about how you the maximize your inches.  I hope you enjoy.

workspace#2a

Work in the print studio has ramped up and “inspiration board Monday” has become “inspiration board Tuesday” this week, Yikes!

I am noticing a trend here  …. I am definitely very partial to yellow these days.  I think Soleil definitely has something to do with this.  Plus, pops of punchy colors evokes a happy feeling that I’m totally  digging.  Standing lamp and ornate mirror courtesy of Ikea.  Glass top Sawhorse table, Parsons bookcase, yellow chair – complements of West Elm, rug and crewel curtain – Anthropologie of course.

{PF’s Work Space Board #1}

PFofficeinspiration

Now that I went ahead and secured a small space (and small is a huge understatement here) I’m going ahead and mapping out the first of three inspiration boards.   Given the square footage,  it will probably be best to be as minimalistic as possible – though I do plan to pay hommage to my Bomehian style.  The most important things is – though minute, the space needs to be multi-functioning.  A windowed wall will be framed with this gorgoeus Woods wallpaper that I absolutely adore – a ruffled curtain in ivory would add just the right softening touch.  An adjacent wall will be painted in a dramatic dark navy paint and will also serve as the backdrop of the multi-functioning grey toned Sloane bookcase.  The bookcase is a smart choice as I can use it for display items and also as a guest desk.  The yellow parsons table which I just L-O-V-E adds a really big punch and will be the focal point of the room.  I decided on two richly designed Terai folding chairs to complement the Parsons’s table – the best part is that I can fold and stow them away when not in use.  The floor will be draped in a shag rug that is modern yet quite homey.  Accessories items will include a silver hammered desk lamp, a metal antique phone, and possibly a cork board for messages. Hmmm,  the build out cost for this room is about $2294.00.  I believe with some  D-I-Y and a little more research the same look can be achieved for 1/3 of the cost.   I think these elements work quite well together and it already feels like Petite-Fete’s new home.

{Pretty in Pink}

Monday, February 15th, 2010

Pretty in Pink Happy post Valentine’s Day!  I am still swooning over my weekend.  Don’t be mistaken, I spend the last two days with the little ones baking cookies, ordering pizza, organizing an exhausting play date, making doily hearts, reading bed time stories, and running Nintendo DSi interference.  I’m pooped. That said I am taking this day for me … to laze around, eat bob-bon truffles, enjoy some lovely he-love-me-not poems and hmmm we’ll have to find something interesting to do with that gorgeous gros grain ribbon. How did you L-O-V-E-L-I-E-S spend the weekend?  Please share!
