Now that I went ahead and secured a small space (and small is a huge understatement here) I’m going ahead and mapping out the first of three inspiration boards. Given the square footage, it will probably be best to be as minimalistic as possible – though I do plan to pay hommage to my Bomehian style. The most important things is – though minute, the space needs to be multi-functioning. A windowed wall will be framed with this gorgoeus Woods wallpaper that I absolutely adore – a ruffled curtain in ivory would add just the right softening touch. An adjacent wall will be painted in a dramatic dark navy paint and will also serve as the backdrop of the multi-functioning grey toned Sloane bookcase. The bookcase is a smart choice as I can use it for display items and also as a guest desk. The yellow parsons table which I just L-O-V-E adds a really big punch and will be the focal point of the room. I decided on two richly designed Terai folding chairs to complement the Parsons’s table – the best part is that I can fold and stow them away when not in use. The floor will be draped in a shag rug that is modern yet quite homey. Accessories items will include a silver hammered desk lamp, a metal antique phone, and possibly a cork board for messages. Hmmm, the build out cost for this room is about $2294.00. I believe with some D-I-Y and a little more research the same look can be achieved for 1/3 of the cost. I think these elements work quite well together and it already feels like Petite-Fete’s new home.

{ New Digs!}
Thursday, February 25th, 2010We are packing our bags and we are out! Ok, not that far … same web address, same email, same phone, just new surroundings. Petite-Fete is moving its office from the back of my living room (yeah!) to a new office/studio on Austin Street – 71-21 Austin Street, Suite 201 in Forest Hills that is. As of the first of April we will be ready for visitors, drop-ins, etc. The studio will be undergoing some minor renovations in the meantime to make the space welcoming just for you. I promise to keep you all posted during all these changes.
{Fresh Faced}
Tuesday, February 23rd, 2010Petite-Fete has a new fresh face! This fabulous makeover is all due to the work of Duane Anderson of dkandesondesigns. Duane is a super creative talent, is passionate about his work, and is a dream to work with. All in all he’s the best of the best in my book. Also up for great mention is the work of my photographer extraordinaire Rosie McCobb. Rosie is super creative, has a great eye, and as you can see from my new images she’s a skilled photographer. She never stops until that “it” shot is achieved. I adore my dynamic duo and a special thanks to them for helping Petite-Fete shine.
{Showtime in Roslyn}
Thursday, January 28th, 2010Special thanks to all the special brides we met at Roslyn Bridal Expo. We had a blast and enjoyed networking with all the other lovely vendors. What is that Rosey and I are holding? Well that is a local Long Island magazine called Pulse – they are doing a feature on the show and on Petite-Fete – more updates on that to come!!

Last month I posted that I was ready to dust off that old sewing machine and see what pops out. Well here you have it - we have added custom ring pillows to the Petite-Fete collection. They are all hand made with luxe silk fabrics with a little Swavroksi bling in each center. I must say that making them have become rather addictive and I’ve been dreaming about being smothered by huge pillows lately – okay I am digressing a little - so many color combinations the sky is the limit. I hope our brides love them as much as we do!
