Day #1 Shelter Island

SunsetbeachHow absolutely divine.  After an hour and half drive from NYC and a short but scenic ferry ride to arrive at a lovely seaside resort with a french flair.  Sunset Beach Hotel I have heard is a slice of San Tropez right here in New York.  I’ve never been so I can’t rely compare but it definitely makes me want to take the next flight to the South of France.  Hmmm, on second thought I might as well enjoy this version, n’est ce pas?  This hotel is situated right on Crescent Beach and is fully equipped with beach umbrellas and loungers to pass the day away with a steady flow of André Balaz’s Sunset Beach Rose Wine in hand.  If that is not quite enough activity then beach volleyball, kayaking, shopping and people watching is sure to keep you occupied.  So far this trip is shaping up quite lovely.   Stay tuned for more …

{Eastern Long Island Redux}

Monday, July 20th, 2009

seasideThis week I am going revisit one of my favorite locales -  the eastern shores of Long Island – Mainly East Hampton and Shelter Island.  Somehow my summer never seems complete if at least one trip has not been made.  I think it will be relaxing and just sublime.  The next three days will be a recap of my stay and hopefully will inspire you to make your own adventure to the beaches of eastern long island.
