I had a great Valentine’s weekend.  It turns out that most of my friends enjoyed V-Day too.  Some enjoyed a family friendly Valentine’s Day and some did it up with their boyfriends/hubbies.  Congratulations to my friend Janel- he PUT A RING ON IT!   Bigger than that even is – some of my Single Lady Friends followed my suggestion and SHARED REAL LOVE with their girls.  And then there was Talia*.

Unfortunately I knew (before she knew) that she would have a glum V-Day.  Reason being…her “boyfriend” is just not that into her.  All of the signs are there.  Talia sometimes calls me to share her relationship frustrations, but I’ve learned throughout the years that women are not always receptive to hearing the truth about their dysfunctional relationships.  Since Talia is an avid Little Holiday reader, on this Single Ladies’ Friday I will use this opportunity to impart some dating guidance.  But, rather than giving Talia a list a reasons why I feel her “boyfriend“ is just not that into her, I am going to share with her 5 subtle signs of a man’s genuine interest.  Here goes – HE IS SO INTO YOU if:

He calls when he says he will- You know how girls call a guy when they’re just thinking about him and just want to say “hi”; well guys do it too — when they are diggin’ a chick.  If he has it really bad, he calls more than one time per day and definitely when he says he will.

He watches Brokeback Mountain – He won’t just watch a movie about homosexual love- if it means spending time with you – he will watch and discuss.  A true sign that a man is wantin’ you is if he will share your interest and try something outside of his comfort zone just to experience it with you.

You hang with the Boys – Now, we all know that a guy’s time with his Boys is cherished time, especially on football Sundays.  Well if he invites you to come along with him on the “reserved all Boys time” you are In – hands down he is feelin’ you.

PDA – if he shows it, he knows it…he is lovin’ you – start your window shopping.  Remember the 4c’s – Clarity, Color, Cut, and Caratssss!!

He says it – this is a simple one.  Sometimes a man will just say: “I’m diggin’, feelin’, caring, wantin’, lustin’, likin’, lovin’ you” He just put it out there- HE IS SO INTO YOU!

Talia, I hope you accept this open letter with love from me to you.  For all of the other Single Lady readers, I wish you find a guy that does most of the things on this list.  If you are dating someone who has not done one of the above, just keeps it movin’, and do it on this Single Ladies Friday!
