This past weekend despite the rain was sooo much fun!  Sunday was the Forest Hills Arts and Music Festival which I had the great pleasure of participating in.  The super fabulous concept for my pop-up shop was created by the ever creative dynamic duo Sierra and Juliet over at Poppies and Posies Events and was  “inspired by the French Provencal aesthetic.”  There were blueberry yes I said blueberry topiaries gracing the entry way.  Vintage crates and galvanized watering cans housing fields and fields of fragrant lavender, little terracotta pots dotted the tables doubles as sign holders.  This all created the perfect tablescape for Petite-Fete current stationery offerings.  I loved it and working with Juliet and Sierra was super fun!  See also the poppies and posies blog for more of their gorgeous designs and for more to come about  Petite-Fete’s tablescape.

So … the weddings over, the dress has been dry cleaned, neatly folded and tightly air boxed – now what?  I guess some of us have dreams of our daughter pulling it out of it’s box, holding it up to her bodice, whirling around the room, and exclaiming this is her perfect dress (HA!)  Well I guess that may happen … however for those of us with realistic expectations in comes Once Wed.  Once Wed is a  designer wedding dress resellers store if you will.  The listing is totally free and you can submit photos and a description of the wedding dress in return for cold hard cash upon its sale.   On the flip side, if your a newly engaged bride you can peruse the pre-owned dresses to find the possible dress of your dreams at a fraction of the cost! Once Wed also offers the cutest DIY wedding ideas to borrow or steal.  I know my dress is collecting cobwebs somewhere in my mother’s attic …..

The lower east side Grand Opening Wedding Chapel is back – Vegas Style only in NYC.  Want to get married, remarried, or pretend get married  (hunh? ok well let’s just go with it) this is definitely for you!  The ever changing storefront at 139 Norfork Street is gearing up for a season of quickie nuptuals.  For about $350 you get the use of the space for 1 hour, an official officiant, seating for 24 guests, internet streaming, decorations, your name in lights, a photographer, and custom invitations.  The ceremony takes about 15 minutes and the remainder can be used to mingle, have  drinks, and cut cake.  You can also extend the celebration for an additional fee.  Its sounds like so much fun, romantic and super spontaneous.  I totally feeling like donning a white dress, grabbing my hubby and just going for it!
